My shutter must be slow, the last 2011-2012 meeting of the Berrien Springs Camera Club was June 6th 2012. And whatta potluck it was, a big thanks to all of you who brought a dish delish. The business meeting voted Cheryl Thomas as President, Shelly Martinez as VP, Rob Shellhamer as Treasure, Jim Lynch as Judge Coordinator, programs and SWMCCC Rep, Madeline Johnson as Public Relations, and Tom and Suzanne McDonough as Digital Programmers.
The meeting advanced with Cheryl and Shelly giving awards to our top two photographs of the year, Jim Lynch and Tom McDonough. Awards were also given for Year End Totals and the honors go to: 1st place-Jim Lynch 943; 2nd place-Jill Dodge 687; 3rd place-Madeline Johnston 548; 4th place-Shelly Martinez 492; and 5th place-Arturo Monroy-Rios 450; Honorable mentions-Rob Shellhamer 392; Dave Stuart 312; Suzanne Anderson 243; Glenda Davidson 239; Dianne Bolt 235; Roshelle Hall 214; James Mendel 209; Kathleen Mendel 188; Samdog 177; Tom McDonough 177; John Lee 91; Roberta Colwell 87; Lee Davidson 85; Leroy Patterson 76; and Don Mangold 52.

A quick vote of all present to decide the special topics for next year, the topics are; farm produce, ice, long exposure, movement-subject/background, night shots, now & then (where old meets new), sequence, dawn/sunsets and creative manipulation. Topics for competition nights will be determined, so keep your lens open for next year’s updates.

After the potlucky feast, Shelly Marinez presented a slide show of all the accepted entries for the 2011-2012 competitions. Wow, whatta an arrangement of absolutely beautiful photos by our talented members. Thank you, Shelly. A BIG THANK YOU to all of our officers and support staff for their hard work and dedication to making this year successful. And so ends this year of the Berrien Springs Camera Club, but we will archive the memories and zoom in on next year’s first meeting on September 5, 2012. Remember to keep capturing those moments, and save a few of the best for the 2012-2013 BSCC competition. Have a great summer everyone!
