Oct. 3, 2012 Competition Night

The next meeting of the Berrien Springs Camera Club will be next Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Don’t forget it’s competition month and digitals must be submitted by Sunday Sept. 30, 2012. Late submissions? You'll have to say 'Please'!

So get your shutters open and we'll CU next Wednesday.

Officers for the 2012-2013 Berrien Springs Camera Club met this summer to review and plan for the BSCC's new season. (l to r) Tom McDonough, Jim Lynch, Suzanne McDonough, Shelly Marinez, and Madeline Johnston. We missed our fearless president, Cheryl Thomas and treasurer, Rob Shellhamer.

2016-2017 Topics for Competition

Oct.- Rivers a& Clouds
Dec.- Churches & Stained Glass (SG)
Feb.- Precipitation (precip) & Moomlight (moon)
Apr.- Wild Animals (wild) & Angles

Plus the monthly constants:
-Nature-Should not include the cultural influence of people.
Products of technology, domestic animals and horticultural varieties of plants are not to be entered in the category. Nature subjects are to be portrayed in their natural habitat which may include such things as gulls on pilings, a baby robin in a lawn or a barn swallow nest in a building overhang. Tagged or banded animals found in the wild are acceptable. Zoo photography is permissible as long as domestic animals are not depicted and no hand of man is shown. Digital enhancement and manipulation must not be obvious.

-Open-anything goes, portraits will now be considered an Open entry.

A total of 10 prints and 10 digitals may be submitted for each competition night.

Digital Submission Guidlines

1. All photos must be sized a maximum of 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels tall in a jpg. format.

2. File name (NEW THIS YEAR) should be topic_title_name.jpg.
(example: Nature_SunsetAtBeach_SuzanneAnderson)
Please note: do not include any spaces in your title.

3. Pictures should be to emailed to: berrienspringscc@gmail.com

4. Photo that are not in the correct format will be returned to the sender for corrections.

4. Photos must be submitted by midnight Tuesday before the Wednesday night competition.
