October Competition Meeting

Don't forget our first competition will be held this Wednesday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the Berrien Springs Community Library.
Photos in the following subjects will be accepted no later than noon on October 3rd.
General Rule (applies to All)-The select subject must be prominently displayed and the PRIMARY Focus of the image, so that an ordinary person would recognize it as such.
OCTOBER SELECT
Marinas (Marinas)
◾The object that is the focus of attention in the image must be something to do with Marinas, in and around Marinas, inside, outside, slips, piers, docks
◾Ex Buildings, signs, flags, boats, docks, etc.
◾File naming: Marinas_Title_Name.jpg

Rocks (Rocks)
◾  The object that is the focus of attention in the image
◾  must be something to do
  with rocks, rock formation, small to large, groupings, and stand-a-lone.
◾Ex: Fences, walls, paths, artfully formed, unconventional settings, etc.
◾File naming:  Rocks_Title_Name.jpg

REGULAR TOPICS

Nature-Should not include the cultural influence of people. Products of technology, domestic animals and horticultural varieties of plants are not to be entered in the category. Nature subjects are to be portrayed in their natural habitat which may include such things as gulls on pilings, a baby robin in a lawn or a barn swallow nest in a building overhang. Tagged or banded animals found in the wild are acceptable. Zoo photography is permissible as long as domestic animals are not depicted and no hand of man is shown. Digital enhancement and manipulation must not be obvious.


Portrait-A human subject must be the primary focus. Pets or animals do not belong in this category. It is intended for human subjects. The background may be natural or in a studio.
