Wednesday's Meeting, March 6, 2013

Berrien Springs Camera Club sponsored the People’s Choice Award for the ‘Shoot’, an all photography show at the Box Factory for the Arts. The show ended on February 24th, the ballots were counted and our winner of the $200 People’s Choice Award goes to Polar Express, a photo by Mark Parren from St. Joseph Michigan. He is truly a talented photographer. You can see more of his photos at http://markp...arren.com/photo.htm An award will be given to Mark at our next BSCC meeting on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Berrien Springs Community Library at Cass and Union.
After the presentation the monthly meeting of the Berrien Springs Camera Club will offer a hands-on, creative program. Club member Suzanne Anderson will lead members in each making a calendar, using the online program Mixbook. After demonstrating the program, she will guide the members through the process. Anyone who wishes to make a calendar should bring their own computer, plus a selection of photos they might like to use for it. These could be seasonal, to fit with each month; topical, such as their favorite lighthouse pictures; maybe family-oriented, with pictures of reunions, birthdays, weddings, etc.; favorite landscape shots; or anything else they would like to view over the year. They could be used as gifts or kept for personal use.
If anyone does not have a laptop to bring, one of the members is planning to bring a couple extras for their use. They should just bring their pictures on a USB drive.
Mixbooks has also given Anderson a coupon code for a 30% discount on any calendar ordered. Members may not have time to complete their calendars during the evening, but they will have a good start and can finish them at home.
All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Hope to see you in our view finder at the meeting.
